Egypt: Flight Data-Recorder Points to Explosion/Bomb

Paris (AFP) – An analysis of black boxes from the Russian plane that crashed in Egypt point to a bomb attack, sources close to the probe said Friday, as Moscow halted flights to the country

The flight data and voice recorders showed “everything was normal” until both failed at 24 minutes after takeoff, pointing to “a very sudden explosive decompression,” one source said.

The data “strongly favours” the theory a bomb on board had brought down the plane, he added.

Another source said the plane had gone down suddenly and violently.

Meanwhile, British airlines were scrambling to evacuate passengers in Sharm el-Sheikh after cancelling flights to the Red Sea resort from which the doomed Airbus had taken off Saturday.

One of the black boxes recovered from the crash site showed that the plane suffered “a violent, sudden” end, a source close to the case in Paris told AFP.

The flight data recorder showed that “everything was normal during the flight, absolutely normal, and suddenly there was nothing”. There is more.

*** ISIS has taken full responsibility for downing the aircraft due in part to Russia’s air and ground campaign in Syria. All the while, Russia has said there are no Russian ground troops in Syria but facts say otherwise.

WASHINGTON: Moscow’s military force in Syria has grown to about 4,000 personnel, but this and more than a month of Russian air strikes have not led to pro-government forces making significant territorial gains, U.S. security officials and independent experts said.

Moscow, which has maintained a military presence in Syria for decades as an ally of the ruling Assad family, had an estimated 2,000 personnel in the country when it began air strikes on Sept. 30. The Russian force has since roughly doubled and the number of bases it is using has grown, U.S. security officials said.

The Russians have suffered combat casualties, including deaths, said three U.S. security officials familiar with U.S. intelligence reporting, adding that they did not know the exact numbers.

The United States has extensive intelligence assets in the region, along with satellite imagery and electronic eavesdropping coverage and contacts with moderate Sunni and Kurdish rebels on the ground in Syria.

Russia’s foreign ministry declined to comment on the size of the Russian contingent in Syria or any casualties it has suffered. It referred questions to the Russian Defense Ministry, which did not respond to written questions submitted by Reuters.

The Kremlin has said there are no Russian troops in combat roles in Syria, though it has said there are trainers and advisers working alongside the Syrian military and also forces guarding Russia’s bases in western Syria.

Then there is the Egypt component:

Sharm al Sheik has been an elitist resort for many years and is one of the crown jewels in Egypt for tourism. Resorts in the area include the Four Seasons, Hyatt, Marriott and others, The area is rich in coral reefs, golf and yachts.

One must wonder where the full and disclosed passenger manifest from the downed aircraft is. Egypt needs tourism to survive for economic revenue and was getting some help from the UK in this endeavor. The Brits had in fact dispatched a large security team to the Sharm al Sheik airport to upgrade all security measures and ten months ago gave an all clear but did suggest additional steps be taken with particular regard to searching via x-ray all luggage and cargo. This was never completed, pointing to Egypt’s security systems at that airport failed. This is key as that resort has previously been used by worldwide government leaders for diplomatic meetings and as a playground. The southern part of the Sinai since the 1980’s has also been victim of several yet intermittent Islamic attacks.

al Sisi is quite anxious to rebuild the country with good reason such that there are plans on the drawing board to expand tourists locations and a new Middle East capitol.

‘A Global Capital’

Spiegel: The Egyptian government has decided to build a new capital city east of Cairo, smack in the middle of the desert. “A global capital,” the building minister announced at a conference on the Red Sea in March. At the event, investors from the Gulf states, China and Saudi Arabia gathered around a model of the new metropolis, admiring the business quarter, with its Dubai-style skyscrapers, the small residential homes in greenbelts and the football stadium. The city is to be situated on 700 square kilometers of land, with an airport larger than London’s Heathrow. President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi even wooed investors himself. He recently announced that construction would begin in January.

It is to be a capital created in accordance with the wishes of the country’s leadership elite. It may not fit well with the country as it currently exists, but it will conform to their vistions of Egypt’s future — a planned, manageable city conceived from the top down in the same way the pharaohs once created the pyramids. The new Cairo will be a beautiful place, an “innovation center,” environmentally sustainable, with a high quality of life, city planners are pledging. They want it to be a city where people can breathe without having to cough.

The old Cairo is an ugly city, an affront to the senses. Even as you begin heading into the city from the airport, the buildings are already blackened from pollution. The cacophony of car horns is painful to the ears and during winter months, the smog hangs like thick fog over the Nile. The city suffers from thrombosis, with streets so crammed with cars they’re like clogged arteries. Yet women in high-heel shoes saunter along the banks of the Nile smiling. Even though the place seems unbearable, Cairo is loved.

It is a city of contradictions, created from the bottom up, even though that had never been the intention. It has been growing wildly since the 1960s — from 3.5 million back then to 18 million now — against the will of the country’s rulers. Fully 11 million people live in structures that were built illegally and new residential districts continue popping up around the city like weeds in a field. The city center is becoming increasingly dense, to the point that, in one of the city’s largest cemeteries, people have even converted burial chambers into their living quarters. Cairo is dirty and chaotic, and, of course, it’s a city that gave birth to a revolution. More here.

Hillary DID Sign the NDA

The FBI is still investigating Hillary yet some interesting items continue to surface and even perhaps be leaked.

Remember when Jen Psaki at the State Department said she did not know whether Hillary signed the appropriate documents on protecting classified material? Heh, well low and behold, Hillary did as is evidenced below.

Hillary Clinton's SCI Nondisclosure Agreement

Thanks to FreeBeacon and DailyMail: Hillary signed State Department contract saying it was HER job to know if documents were classified top secret, and laid out criminal penalties for ‘negligent handling’

  • Clinton signed ‘Sensitive Compartmented Information Nondisclosure Agreement’ on her second day at the State Department
  • It says she was personally responsible for determining if sensitive documents in her possession were classified at the highest level
  • Spelled out criminal laws under which she could be prosecuted
  • Hillary has said on the campaign trail that top-secret classified info found on her private email server wasn’t classified originally and it wasn’t her job to know better

Hillary Clinton‘s claim that she was unaware top secret documents on her private email server were highly classified took a hit on Friday, with the revelation of a State Department contract she signed in 2009.

The ‘Sensitive Compartmented Information Nondisclosure Agreement,’ which Clinton inked during her second day as Secretary of State, declared that she was personally responsible for determining if sensitive documents in her possession were classified at the government’s highest level.

‘I understand that it is my responsibility to consult with appropriate management authorities in the Department … in order to ensure that I know whether information or material within my knowledge or control that I have reason to believe might be SCI.’

SCI – Sensitive Compartmented Information – is the highest level of ‘top secret’ classification, applying to information so sensitive because of the sources and methods used to obtain it that it can only be viewed in a special room, hardened against electronic eavesdropping, constructed for that purpose. The agreement Clinton signed in 2009, which warns against ‘negligent handling’ of state secrets, conflicts with her more recent positions on the presidential campaign trail.

Clinton has said none of the hundreds of classified documents found among emails on her unsecured server were classified at the time she sent or received them, and suggested that without a marking from intelligence officials, she wasn’t expected to know what is classified.

The libertarian Competitive Enterprise Institute think-tank obtained the document with Hillary’s signature, which the State Department declassified on Thursday, and gave it to the conservative Washington Free Beacon.

‘I have been advised that the unauthorized disclosure, unauthorized retention, or negligent handling of SCI by me could cause irreparable injury to the United States or be used to advantage by a foreign nation,’ the agreement Clinton signed states.

The U.S. Intelligence Community’s inspector general has said two of the Clinton emails released by the State Department so far in complying with a federal judge’s order contained SCI-level information, and had to be sanitized by experts before they could be published.

A spokesman for Hillary’s presidential campaign did not respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment on Friday.

But the text of the agreement spells out plainly that Clinton agreed she was responsible for seeking help if she wasn’t clear about what was classified at the SCI level.

It also spelled out what might happen if she broke the terms of the contract.

‘I have been advised that any breach of this Agreement may result in my termination of my access to SCI and removal from a position of special confidence and trust requiring such access,’ the agreement reads, ‘as well as the termination of my employment or other relationships with my Department of Agency that provides me with access to SCI.’

‘In addition,’ she agreed, ‘I have been advised that any unauthorized disclosure of SCI by me may constitute violations of United States criminal laws, including provisions of Sections 793, 794, 796, and 952, Title 18, United States Code; and of Section 783(b), Title 50, United States Code.’

‘Nothing in this Agreement constitutes a waiver by the United States of the right to prosecute me for any statutory violations.’

Government officials who sign the same document Clinton signed acknowledge ‘agree that I shall return all materials that may have come into my possession or for which I am responsible because of such access, upon demand by an authorized representative of the United States Government or upon the termination of my employment.’

Clinton never returned her email server to the federal government. She housed it in her Chappaqua, New York home while she was America’s top diplomat, and then moved it when she left the Obama administration – entrusting it to a Colorado company that was not cleared to handle SCI-level documents.

The State Department acknowledged in September that Clinton’s home-brew server also was never authorized to handle such information.

The FBI is currently investigating Hillary’s email mess, in an information dragnet that has also roped in her former chief of staff Cheryl Mills and current top campaign aide Huma Abedin.

Both of those women also signed the DCI nondisclosure agreement.

*** One more thing, there were at least 5 attempts, perhaps even successful by the Russians hacking into Hillary’s emails.

Operation Trident Juncture 2015 vs. Russian Aggression

Around 36,000 troops from more than 30 nations (27 NATO Allies plus partners).

• More than 230 units, more than 140 aircraft and more than 60 ships.

• More than 12 international organizations, governmental organizations and NGOs will participate, including the European Union, theOSCE, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the African Union.

ArmyTimes: ZARAGOZA, Spain – Explosions, smoke and dozens upon dozens of military vehicles gradually filled a valley here on Wednesday afternoon for the latest show of force for Exercise Trident Juncture 2015.

Hundreds of military leaders, dignitaries and media watched as NATO troops maneuvered through the San Gregorio Military Training Area and, later, as hundreds of paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division dropped from the sky.

Despite the huge audience, leaders noticed one invitee was a no-show: Russia.

Trident Juncture 2015 — the largest NATO exercise in Europe since 2002 — is in large part a response to Russia’s recent aggression against Ukraine. More here.

NATO chief sounds alarm over Russian buildup

DailyStar; TROIA, Portugal: NATO’s secretary-general sounded the alarm Thursday over the buildup of Russian military forces from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean and called on the U.S.-led alliance to come up with a response.

Jens Stoltenberg said the Russians have concentrated military forces in Kaliningrad, the Black Sea and the eastern Mediterranean, where they are assisting beleaguered Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Speaking at a news conference during NATO war games in Troia, south of Lisbon, Stoltenberg experts believe the buildup of Russian military might could lead to Moscow’s ability to limit the access of the United States and its allies to certain regions.

“We have to be sure that we are able to overcome these capabilities, so we can reinforce, so we can move and we can deploy forces if needed,” Stoltenberg said.

The NATO chief said the challenge of Russia’s new capabilities in the field of what defense specialists call “anti-access/area denial” has become “the question on our agenda.”

Leaders and representatives of nine Eastern European NATO member nations meeting in the Romanian capital of Bucharest Wednesday called for an increased alliance presence in Europe in response to Russia’s annexation of Crimea from Ukraine, and threats from the ISIS group.

Until now, NATO has been cool to such requests, citing an agreement it concluded with Russia in 1997, when relations with Moscow were friendlier. Under the accord, NATO said it would refrain from any “additional permanent stationing of substantial combat forces.”

Though the alliance opened small liaison offices in capitals of its Eastern European members this year and has rotated military units in and out of countries that feel most at risk from Russia, it appears to have carefully avoided anything that might be construed by the Kremlin as the stationing of permanent reinforcements.

Stoltenberg’s comments Thursday hinted that NATO and its member nations might be rethinking their approach. “The important thing is that we have military presence,” the secretary-general said.

“To some extent,” he said, “it is artificial to distinguish between occasional military presence and other kinds that are more persistent.”

Earlier in the day, NATO put its naval and special forces capabilities on display at this naval base south of Lisbon, and also showcased the ability of armed forces from its 28 member nations to work together.

As Stoltenberg and other VIP guests looked on, British and Spanish marines riding landing craft stormed a beach. Portuguese marines fast-roped from a helicopter onto the bow of a ship, simulating the retaking of a vessel seized by terrorists or pirates. The Portuguese were reinforced by units from Polish special forces, who also checked for the presence of chemical, biological or nuclear hazards.

For the past three weeks, more than 36,000 personnel from NATO allies and partner nations have been taking part in exercises across a broad swath of Europe stretching from Portugal to Italy. The war games, code-named Trident Juncture, are being held to hone NATO’s ability to respond to a range of new security threats, including a more assertive Russia and Muslim terrorist groups active in the Middle East and North Africa.

Illegals Just Released Their Bill of Rights/Demands

Illegal immigrants release ‘Bill of Rights’
Demand citizenship, birth certificates, medical care

The team of people behind this is found here.
WashingtonTimes: An immigrant-rights group proposed a “Bill of Rights” for illegal immigrants Thursday, demanding that Americans recognize there are millions already in the country who deserve health care, in-state tuition rates for college and a guarantee of citizenship in the long term.

Undocumented Americans’ Bill of Rights 2015.jpg

The purpose of this document is to awaken and instill courage and cooperation among our leaders, to grow public awareness and to create a crisis of conscience where Americans have to do more than talk about us; they have to talk with us. They must approach this discussion with respect for our determination to add our story to the nation’s proud immigrant anthology.

We’re already here and have been for years. We work hard, take care of our families and have deep roots in our communities. More time is something we don’t have. Our children are getting older without access to equal educational opportunities. Our working adults are unable to reach any kind of wage parity and advance in their professions. We live with no sense of security that our lives won’t be disrupted, our families torn apart.  And we’re constantly berated and stereotyped as a monolithic group to be condemned and ostracized. Being discouraged is one thing; losing all hope of working our way toward legal acceptance is something we can’t abide and the nation can’t afford – morally or economically. Read more from their own website here.

The list of demands runs 10 items long — the same as the U.S. Constitution’s Bill of Rights — and also calls for an end to arrests and deportations for “all law-abiding undocumented Americans.”  The document was circulated by United We Stay, which is a group of illegal immigrants, first generation Americans and human rights activists pushing for changes to immigration law.
“We know we have human rights, even though our very presence is deemed illegal and our existence alien. Now we have our own Bill of Rights and we want it to be the framework for every immigration decision going forward from the local to the national level,” the group said in a statement announcing their demands.

The 10 points include a demand that they be accorded respect; calls for citizenship rights and an immediate deferment of deportations; in-state tuition at public colleges; “wage equality”; medical care; and protection against deportation if illegal immigrants report a crime as a witness.

The list also includes a specific demand for “compelled authorization of birth certificates for our U.S.-born children.” That appears to be pushback against the state of Texas, where officials have ruled that parents must present valid ID to get children’s birth certificates — and have deemed the Mexican government’s Matricula Consular ID card not to be acceptable as primary identification.

A federal court has allowed that Texas policy to go into effect, ruling that there are questions about the reliability of the Mexican cards and that state officials have an interest in making sure only authorized relatives are able to get birth certificates.

The list of rights begins with a protest against the terms “illegal” and “alien.” Immigrant-rights advocates say both terms are dehumanizing, and have offered “undocumented workers” or, in the case of United We Stand, “Undocumented Americans,” as their preferred term.

The document is meant to serve as a goalpost for the ongoing immigration debate. Immigrant-rights groups had been gaining ground in recent years, with polls suggesting Americans were increasingly open to legalization.

A legalization bill even passed the Senate in 2013 — but Democrats, who controlled the chamber, never sent it to the GOP-run House for action.

The issue then stalled last year after President Obama took unilateral action to grant a deportation amnesty to as many as 5 million of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. Federal courts have put that amnesty on hold, but Mr. Obama’s other policies stopping deportations for most illegal immigrants remain in place, which has effectively checked off one of the list of rights’ demands.

March, 2015, ISIS Posted Job Openings for Bomb-makers

ISIS posts job ad for press officers, teachers and bomb makers

NYPost: ISIS is hiring.

A job advertisement has surfaced online aimed at supporters of the Islamic State who do not wish to fight on the front lines.

Omar Hussain, a British jihadist who fled the UK to join the Islamic State in Syria, has posted 10 positions that the terrorist organization is looking to fill.

Writing on behalf of the group under the name Abu Sa’eed Al-Britani, the devout ISIS member explains that while not wanting to be a soldier is a “sign of weak faith,” there is still much work to be done even if you’re afraid to kill or wage jihad, the Independent reports.

Number one on the list of available occupations is press officer, needed for the so-called ISIS “media center.” This “internal media” position would provide support from the masses as Western news outlets continue to release loads of “negative propaganda” against the group, Al-Britani said.

Another post that he said needed to be filled is the role of schoolteacher. This person would ultimately be in charge of instructing the “next generation … the correct Islamic teachings.”

“Imagine the reward in nurturing a child upon tawheed (oneness with God) and jihad (holy struggle)!” Al-Britani said. “All his efforts and deeds he does due to you teaching him will earn you huge rewards. And many of these children are the sons and daughters of Mujahedeen and martyrs.”

ISIS Forum Features Manual On How To Build Bombs, Blow Up Planes

A guide with detailed instructions about how to make bombs and sneak them past airport security is featured on a prominent forum

A manual explaining how to build bombs and slip them past airport security was posted on a main ISIS forum several months before the recent downing of a Russian passenger plane.

“Any security system, be it human or mechanical, has weak points that can be breached as long as you know their details and mechanisms,” said the guide, which Vocativ discovered using our deep web technology.

The manual was originally published in Al-Qaeda’s “Inspire” English-language magazine in December, then posted to the ISIS forum, in Arabic, in March. A forum administrator deliberately made the guide the lead post in a forum section dedicated to technical know-how for jihadists seeking to commit acts of violence. It remains unclear, however, if the manual was placed in the section’s top spot before or after the Metrojet plane came down over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on Saturday.

But as of Thursday, the guide was prominently positioned on the ISIS forum, and discussion about the manual was active — showing just how easy it is for ISIS-affiliated jihadists to access information about building and using homemade explosives to blow up an aircraft.

The guide is thorough, listing what is says are every measure and action needed to blow up a plane. It details how to make homemade explosives using acetone, potassium chlorate and other chemicals. It explains how to carry a bomb successfully through airport security, including past metal detectors, scent detectors and frisking and screening machines. It gives specifics about the “best” place to put a bomb on plane.

It also includes information about American, British and French airlines, and offers final instructions for jihadists after they board a plane with a bomb. “Relax, do not become tense,” it says. “At this stage you have achieved a great success even if the plane is not blown up.”

ISIS has insisted for days that it is responsible for taking down the Metrojet flight flying over the Sinai, killing all 224 people on board. It has not provided details on how it might have carried out such a devastating operation.

U.S. and British officials have said the aircraft may have been downed by an explosive device. On Thursday, Britain said there was a “significant possibility” that ISIS’ branch in Egypt was behind a suspected bomb attack, Reuters reported.
